Within the halls of Sanathana Dharma Marga, in the year 325 of Dwapara Yuga, this Sangam is established, pointing the next step for seekers ready to engage in Dharma-Yuddha.

Its manifesting word is Aum. Repetition of this Om and meditation on its meaning is the way—Yoga Sutras.

The Question.Before faith, before religion, before the books, the teachers, the doctrines and the answers, there is the question.Not a question someone taught you to ask. A question emerging from somewhere deep within you.Something beneath the surface of the conscious mind that would not leave you alone.Why am I here? What am I? Who am I? Where am I? What is this life? What is God? What is Truth?The words may change throughout a lifetime. The question may disappear for years and return when you least expect it. But when the question is real—not given to you—feels like an emptiness, a longing that doesn’t go away.And so you begin to search.You ask other people. You read the scriptures. You listen to teachers. You enter religions. You study philosophies. You follow paths that provide answers.But you can hear an answer a thousand times and still not know it.A word enters the mind. It becomes an idea. The idea becomes a belief. The belief can become so familiar that it quiets the question without ever answering it. Something in you knows the answers you have been given are not yet the answer you are seeking.You have received information. You have not yet received Gnosis—knowledge through direct experience.The Katha Upanishad speaks to this:"The Self is not known through much learning, nor through the intellect, nor through much hearing."The ancient injunction at Delphi was not believe this. It was: "Know thyself."Socrates questioned what everyone else claimed to know because another person's certainty could never substitute for direct knowledge.Yeshua says in the Gospel of Thomas:"If you bring forth what is within you, what you have will save you."The deepest answer cannot come through another person's lips. It must become known within you.And this is where the mystery of the Guru enters.The true Guru does not merely give you an answer to memorize, or a beautiful speech. The Guru Presence opens the connection through which the answer can become known.Before the answer becomes a thought, before it becomes a sentence within your mind, there is already a knowing. The words come afterward.They are only the echo.The question that begins the search is already carrying the memory of the answer.You are not searching merely for information.You are searching for anamnesis—remembrance.The Faithful Skeptic.Perhaps your search eventually reaches a wall.You have read the books. Sat in the pews. Studied the philosophies. You have inherited the stories of the sages, the prophets, the saints, the Gods.You believe in God. You believe in Divine Truth. You believe in the wisdom of those who came before you. And still—something is missing.That is not a failure. It is a signal.Consider Thomas.He did not reject Yeshua. He did not reject the testimony of the other disciples. He simply refused to accept another person's experience as a substitute for his own.He wanted to see. He wanted to touch. He wanted to know.I will not pretend that believing is the same as knowing.That is the position of the faithful skeptic. And that is where the next stage of the journey begins.Beyond Belief.Since ancient times, traditions have preserved more than information about the Divine. They have preserved a possibility.The possibility that what the sages, prophets, yogis, mystics and seers experienced can become direct experience within you.This can be described as Pratyaksha Vijnanam—direct perception of spiritual Truth. Or Gnosis."This is the highest knowledge, the sovereign mystery, the supreme purifier. It is known through direct perception….."— Krishna.The Yogic tradition preserves the science of realization.Socrates speaks to the soul about what lies beyond the appearances of this life.The Sufi seeks the Beloved.The Taoist follows the Tao:"The Tao that can be named is not the eternal Tao."The Zoroastrian walks the path of Truth against the forces of falsehood.The Gnostic seeks direct knowledge of the Divine.The Hermetic tradition preserved in the Emerald Tablets points toward the correspondence between the visible and invisible orders:"As above, so below."Different languages. Different civilizations. Different rivers. Yet beneath them runs an older current.Belief has a legitimate place. Faith can begin the journey. But faith eventually reaches a threshold. The path of faith eventually demands direct experience of that in which it rests.The Living Guru Presence.And who is the Master?This is where the traditions appear to disagree—until you look deeper.The Christian sees Christ. The Vaishnava sees Krishna. The Shaiva sees Shiva, Shambhu. The Muslim bows before the Highest One. The Jew bows before the Most High. The Zoroastrian recognizes Ahura Mazda, the Wise Lord. The Taoist follows the Tao. The Gnostic seeks the Divine Light. The Hermetic tradition recognizes the One in all things. The Yogi speaks of Brahman, Paramatman, Ishvara.The names are many. The forms are many. The languages are many.But the Guru Presence is one.The Master, as Krishna, says in the Bhagavad Gita:"I am the beginning the middle and the end of all beings, their everlasting seed, their treasure supreme, and as they approach Me, so I receive them."Throughout the Yugas, the Master has worked through different manifestations, different prophets, different saints, different Gods and Goddesses, different messengers and different instruments.He has built traditions. He has broken traditions. He has sent teachers into civilizations and allowed civilizations to grow around their teachings.Sometimes the manifestation is greater in realization. Sometimes the work is smaller. The forms are not identical. The work is not identical. The degree of realization is not identical.But the Divine work continues.The Guru Presence is not imprisoned in the historical form through which you first encountered Him.The Master is still here.“I am the Way, and the Master who witness in silence” — Krishna.The School of the Universe.Think of this existence as a school.The universe is the school. The Yugas are its ages. Civilizations are its classrooms. Religions are branches of its teaching.Prophets, saints, sages, yogis, teachers, Gods, messengers and agents of Light appear throughout its history.And somewhere at the center of this enormous school stands the Master.This is His garden. His Lila. And the game never ends.“Creation is mere play, as seen in the world”—Brahma Sutra.“The entire universe is a play of consciousness”—Yoga Vasistha.He may speak through a scripture. He may speak through a teacher. He may speak through a child. He may speak through an animal. He may speak through nature. He may speak through a circumstance you could never have predicted."I am seated in the hearts of all beings. From Me comes memory, knowledge, and their absence"—Krishna.Who can say through which outlet the Master may choose to speak to you? Who can truly guess the work of the Architect of lives, the writer of the story, the true CEO of the universe?The disguises are many. The Master is one.And that is why the old master Lao advised:“Always embrace the tree by the trunk.There are countless branches. Do not mistake the branch for the whole tree.The Tree.There are many religions. They arise in different civilizations, speak different languages, preserve different revelations and respond to different moments in human history.
Some branches flourish. Some wither. Some divide into countless branches of their own.Yet the Divine does not disappear when a branch withers.“Truth is one, the wise speak of it by many names.” — RigvedaThe traditions are not the same. Their stories, doctrines and symbols differ. But the seeker can encounter the Truth toward which they point.Different rivers. Different landscapes. One Ocean.There is a difference between inheriting a tradition and realizing the Truth toward which that tradition points.Yoga.Yoga is the ancient science of self-realization—the Holy Science preserved through the ages and revealed by Krishna in the Bhagavad Gita.Krishna says:"I taught this science to Vivasvan the Sun God, and Vivasvan taught it to Manu, the father of mankind, and Manu taught it to his son Ikshvaku. But in the revolutions of time, the succession was broken, and the science appeared to be lost."Krishna describes this knowledge as:"The king of knowledge, the king of secrets, supremely purifying, the highest—directly perceivable, in accordance with dharma, easy to practice, and imperishable."The Sanskrit pratyakṣa-avagamam points toward what can be directly perceived and realized—knowable through experience rather than merely accepted through belief—Gnosis.Krishna reveals Yoga to Arjuna through four dimensions: Karma, Jnana, Raja and Bhakti.Not as a course curriculum. Not as a collection of techniques. But as dimensions of the Yoga by which the human being is brought toward realization.The Gods of Modern Civilization.The six enemies—desire, anger, greed, delusion, pride, and envy—are not merely personal flaws. They are demonic forces that, when collectively embraced, shape civilization itself.What happens when the six inner enemies become collective? Civilization builds systems around those forces.What humanity serves becomes what humanity effectively worships.At the root: Avidya—Ignorance.Then the six siblings.Then the civilizational manifestations:Profit. Wanting. Lack. Consumption. Endless entertainment. Desire manufactured and continually renewed.The modern system does not merely sell things; its driving purpose is Profit, a spawn of Greed. It feeds a program of Wanting and Lack.Wanting consumes attention.
Wanting consumes vital force.
Wanting creates inner dependence.Lack pushes you forward by creating a sense of emptiness, manifesting as the feeling of need and the anxiety that follows.Krishna says:"Triple is the gate of hell, destructive of the self—desire, wrath, and greed; therefore let man renounce these three."The Hermetic tradition also speaks to freedom from desire:"Deep in the silence, you must linger until at last you are free from desire"—Emerald tablets.What a civilization worships reveals what governs it. And what one worships, so one merges with.
The seeker does not have to participate in the worship of these false gods."Whatever state of being one remembers at the time of death, that state he will attain without fail"—Krishna.After a lifetime of conditioned thinking, where would your mind be? There you will go.The Test.The seeker must eventually face what stands between consciousness and freedom.The six enemies are not merely concepts.They operate within the human being. Identification gives them power. They resist liberation.This is where the path becomes Dharma-Yuddha.Not a war against another human being.A war against the forces that keep consciousness identified with what it is not.Against Avidya.
Against Ahamkara—false ego.Against these forces that have occupied the inner kingdom of mind.The seeker must distinguish Truth from illusion, Dharma from conditioning, Divine direction from egoic desire.Krishna says:"Attachment and aversion are rooted in the objects of the senses. One should not be controlled by them."The Dhammapada says:"Though one may conquer a thousand men in battle, he who conquers himself is the greatest of conquerors."The battlefield is within.And eventually, the battlefield must be entered.Now return to Thomas.Can you experience that in which you have placed your faith?Not: "Do you believe?"
But: "Do you know?"May the Guru Presence illumine your path.May Divine Truth reveal itself within you.Om Shree Gurubhyo Namah
